Full Screen Mode for Flash Websites

Today we are announcing the availability of a full screen option in all the Flash websites created with the Moments4Ever web designer service.

This exciting new option allows site visitors to enjoy the photographer's website on a clean, uncluttered, full screen.

The full screen mode removes all the distractions of a normal screen display. Only the information and visual elements of the Flash website remain visible, greatly enhancing the impact of the site's photos, slide shows, and videos.

All production Flash websites have automatically been upgraded to include this new feature.

Create watermarks that go beyond protecting your photos

Photographers who sell photos on the Internet generally know that embedding a visible watermark in their photos is the most effective way to protect their photos against illegal downloads and use.

However, our new watermarking tool allows photographers to obtain two additional benefits: promote their brand and adapt the level of protection to different audiences.

Promoting your brand with watermarks is actually quite simple and effective with the new tool: simply set your marks to be your business or personal name, and choose a size and font for the mark that agree with your brand.

Then, every time a client views a photo they will be reminded of the artist who created it instead of being told that it is only a "Proof" or "Preview."

Although practically any mark may discourage a person from illegally using your photos, only marks based on key elements of your brand, such as your name, will give you the added benefit of promoting your brand.

Another benefit of the tool is that it lets you adapt the level of protection to different audiences.

For example, if you are selling to an audience that may be inclined to impulsively steal your photos (do seniors come to mind?), you may want your photos to have a strong and ominous watermark front and center.

List events in the order that maximizes your sales

Today we want to tell you about a new feature that helps you maximize your sales.

The websites of photographers who use the Moments4Ever online proofing service for selling photos may include a page that lists all the events the photographer has posted or is about to post for viewing and ordering.

However, the default order in which events are listed may not be optimal in terms of maximizing the photographer's sales.

For example, say you, the photographer, have some events that are bringing in orders like crazy.

The system by default might place the highly profitable events in the middle of a long the list, or even worse: at the bottom of the list.

The default position may make your clients work harder to find the events and places you at risk of loosing not one or two orders, but many orders.

Clearly the solution is to place the highly profitable events at the top of your list, where they are easy to find.

Another example; you have a series of high profile 'Coming Soon' events that promise to bring in many new clients and orders.

The default position of these highly anticipated and potentially very profitable events may be at the bottom of a long list, again making them hard to find.

Again, you will want to place them in a position that generates maximum sales, which translates to a position that is easy to find, i.e. at the top of the list.

Note that the Moments4Ever system will collect the names and emails of all the people who want to see and order photos from 'Coming Soon' events.

Later, when the event is posted, you can notify the registered viewers that the event is ready for viewing and ordering by using the Moments4Ever messaging system.

In short, the new event listing feature gives you total control of the order in which events are listed.

By itself, or combined with other features of the Moments4Ever online proofing system, such as the messaging system, this new feature is designed to help you maximize your sales.

Simply select all the images you want to upload on your local computer and click a button. The tool will instantly start uploading your images to your Moments4Ever account.

Graphical progress bars show how the upload is proceeding for each image. As each image completes its upload, the tool proceeds to optimize the image for the web.

When all the images have been uploaded and optimized for the web the tool displays thumbnails of all the images you have uploaded.

Client orders are now available as PDF files

We are pleased to announce that starting today all client orders in your Moments4Ever management console are available as PDF files.

The Moments4Ever online proofing service now automatically generates a PDF file of each client order, including orders in your account that were submitted before today.

With this new feature you can avoid the hassle of saving and printing HTML pages from your browser, and manipulating them to appear more professional.

Simply download the pre-formatted PDF file of the order to your computer and print a professional looking copy at any printer.

This is a great way to save a copy for your records, or include a reference copy for your client when you ship the order.

Based on this new PDF capability, we are implementing three other features we think you and your clients will appreciate:

A copy of the order is attached to the email we send you to notify you that a client submitted an order.

A separate, "Thank you for your order," email is sent to your client with a copy of her order attached. You are copied (bcc:) on this email.

We inform your clients you have sent them an email with a copy of the order, and give them clear instructions on how to save and print their order when they checkout.

Based on your feedback, we have made it even easier to add music to your pages and extended the music option to practically all pages, whether or not the page has a slideshow.

For example, you can add music to a photo gallery, your home page, or the about artist page, by simply clicking the Music link for the page and selecting the desired music from the Music pull-down menu.

First, add music to your Moments4Ever account:

Second, add music to a web page:

Management Console Re-Organization

Starting today you will notice that your management console has been re-organized around our main services:

Online Proofing,
Web Design, and
Web Hosting.

These services are now highlighted in the main navigation tabs of your console so you can access them more directly and intuitively.

We have also added a color coded Subscription Status box, at the top right of your console, so you can see the status of your subscriptions at a glance. Simply click a subscription name to see the details of the subscription, such as its expiration date and renewal options.

Moments4Ever eliminates event setup fees

We are pleased to announce that starting today we will no longer be charging event setup fees.

Now the only fee required for using our online proofing service is a monthly subscription fee that is proportional to the number of photos in your online proofing service at the beginning of each subscription period.

Sweet Slide Shows Galore!

Piggybacking on our St. Valentine's release, we are happy to announce that you can now add a slide show to practically any page of your website with just a few clicks.

For example, to add a slide show to your home page:

Login to your account at http://www.moments4ever.com/
Click the Services tab
Click Web Design
Click Pages
Click the link for your Home page
Click Slide Show
Click the Photos you want to include in the slide show
Set the Slide Show Status to Active

Voila! You have just created a slide show for your home page. Next, you can preview it by clicking Preview in your Web Design Center, or see it live if you have have published your site.

If you think the slide show on your home page is sweet, then try adding shows to select other pages as well. All it takes is a few more clicks.

Happy New Year 2008!

Welcome to our first blog posting of 2008! Correction: to our first blog posting ever!

One of our new year resolutions is to make better use of available technology to further simplify our lives and grow our business. So, when we were thinking of better ways to keep our clients and friends abreast of what is happening at Moments4Ever we thought: hey, we must blog!

Press releases are so impersonal and pre-Internet, plus nobody reads them anyway; so we got rid of them entirely. To maintain a sense of history, we may try to revive some of the more important releases as archived blog postings, time permitting.

As you may know, we like to travel and we specially like to spend the holidays and the new year with our families, who live in Venezuela. This is where we both grew up and where we are currently combining holidays with workdays!

If blogging is this easy and fun we suspect we will use it from most of the other places we would like to be in the future. The small investment in learning how to do it appears to be a good one, so far.

Note that we said "most of the other places ...", that is because our list of places includes some places that are as far as possible from anything internet or even computer related, so with any luck we will all enjoy some quiet time as well.

Back to business, we want to let you know of a major upgrade to our service that we started in mid 2007 and will be ready for release early this year.

The internal code name for the upgrade is v11, for version 11 of the service. It has many different components and features, and we will be describing the major ones here after they are public.

By the way, with v11 we will be on record to release a major service upgrade about every 8 months. Not bad for a service or software company of two, eh?

Another record we are proud of: in 2007 we continued our pattern of growing our customer base and revenue every year!
